Self-Study Webinar

New York State Association of Neuropsychology (NYSAN) presents a pre-recorded webinar with Hannah Knafo, PhD & Amanda Tinkelman, MD

Summary

This presentation explores the complex interplay of psychological and biological factors contributing to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). It examines the hormonal fluctuations, genetic predispositions, and neurobiological changes associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period that increase vulnerability to these disorders. Furthermore, the presentation discusses the psychological, developmental, and environmental factors that impact perinatal mental health. A biopsychosocial model is presented to provide a comprehensive understanding of the etiology and maintenance of PMADs, ultimately aiming to inform effective prevention and intervention strategies.
